Betsy Earl is an expert in digital preservation and library systems, with over 30 years of experience working across the GLAM (Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums) sector. Her career has been defined by leading institutions through technological transitions – from legacy systems to modern, standards-based platforms that support long-term digital access and preservation.

Currently focused on Ex Libris’s Rosetta digital preservation system, Betsy designs and maintains workflows that ensure the integrity, discoverability and sustainability of digital collections. Her expertise includes SIP structuring, IE management, and PREMIS metadata, and she is deeply engaged in aligning system capabilities with institutional policies and international best practices.

Betsy’s work empowers library staff to deliver digital content to Victorians, making cultural and historical resources accessible to communities across the state. She is known for her collaborative approach, technical precision and ability to translate complex requirements into scalable, practical solutions.
